Professor Amit Kanvinde and his former advisor Gregory G. Deierlein, have been selected by the ASCE Awards Committee to receive the 2008 Norman Medal. for the paper, “Void Growth Model and Stress Modified Critical Strain Model to Predict Ductile Fracture in Structural Steels.” Journal of Structural Engineering, December 2006. The Norman Medal is cited by ASCE in recognition of a paper that makes a definitive contribution to engineering science. Professor Kanvinde will accept this award during the Society’s Annual Business Meeting, November 8, 2008, Pittsburgh, PA. |
