Gift establishes Endowed Fund for Geotechnical Engineering Education

Emeritus Professor I. M. Idriss and his wife have gifted $100,000 to establish the Mariam and Izzat M. Idriss Endowment Fund for Geotechnical Engineering Education. The endowment will enrich the graduate school experience in geotechnical engineering through support of graduate student participation in professional conferences, hosting of scholars to engage in extended interactions with graduate students, and exposure to major geotechnical projects and/or special training opportunities. This endowment extends Professor Idriss’ strong legacy of teaching and mentoring, as well as his contributions to research and practice, over the past 50 years.
