Sashi Kunnath elected Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers

KunnathProfessor Kunnath was recently honored by being elected a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). ASCE Fellows are eminent engineers who have made significant technical or professional contributions and have demonstrated notable achievement in their field. Fellows occupy the Society’s second highest membership grade.

Professor Kunnath was cited for his work on nonlinear seismic assessment of structures as well as his contributions as Editor-in-chief of the Journal of Structural Engineering.

Sashi Kunnath joined the CEE faculty in 2001 were he currently serves as department chair. A Fellow of the American Concrete Institute, he served for 7 years as editor-in-chief of the ASCE Journal of Structural Engineering. Prof.
Kunnath was the 2001 recipient of the ACI Structural Research Award, the 2008 recipient of the ASCE Raymond Reese Research Prize and the 2009 ASCE Richard Torrens Award.
