Professor Cheng's research areas of interest include combined field and laboratory experimental investigation and analytical/computational simulations; design and analysis of bridge components and systems; application of Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) composites to innovative infrastructures and renewal; design, analysis and durability mechanics of FRP composites; and Fiber Reinforced Concrete (FRC).
