The current status on the project is –

The experimental testing for Phase I – full-scale testing of bracing members to validate ULCF models on base metals – has been completed!!

·        Details about the Phase I experiments, test data and other information can be found in the Test Results & Test Matrix and Schedule sections of the main page.

·        This phase also included small-scale testing that was performed at Stanford University to determine the material properties and fracture toughness values of the brace steel.

Phase I data processing and analytical simulations are currently underway

The experimental testing for Phase II – large-scale testing of column base plate connections to validate ULCF models on weld metals – began in mid September 2006.

·        The test matrix and schedule is available here [insert hyperlink].

·        Details and drawings about the Phase II experiments will be uploaded shortly.

·        The small scale testing that will determine the material properties and fracture toughness values of the weld and base metal will begin immediately following the large scale tests.

Phase II analytical simulations are currently underway
