Professor Orlob's professional experience
has been divided between teaching, research and a consulting practice
in the fields of Environmental and Water Resources Engineering,
with emphasis on development and application of mathematical models
and systems analysis techniques for water quality management.
Between UC Berkeley and UC Davis appointments, Dr. Orlob founded
and became CEO of a consulting engineering firm credited with
development of many original mathematical models for simulation
of hydrodynamics and water quality in streams, lakes, reservoirs
and coastal waters, many of which are in wide use by environmental
