Professor Mark Rashid's research interests fall within the general area of solid mechanics, with particular emphasis on computational methods and fracture mechanics.  Other topics of special interest include blast loading and other fluid-structure interaction problems, MEMS devices, and material modeling.  Dr. Rashid's fracture analysis research code FEFRAC is available for free download on this website.  FEFRAC is a finite-element-based simulation tool for nonlinear fracture, and contains many innovative and powerful features.  Also find information on some of Dr. Rashid's other research projects and teaching activities at the University of California, Davis.
