Center for Geotechnical Modeling receives grant for natural hazards research

The National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded nearly $5 million to the Center for Geotechnical Modeling (CGM) at UC Davis for research into infrastructure durability and safety.  The CGM houses a world-class earthquake-simulating centrifuge, which will be utilized as part of the new Natural Hazards Engineering Research Infrastructure program. The research conducted for this program will allow for major advances to be made to improve the performance of soil and soil structure systems effected by natural disasters. Read more about the grant for natural hazards research at the CGM here.
