Bio

Dr. Bolander’s research interests involve the effective use of high-performance materials within the civil infrastructure, with emphasis on the life-cycle performance of concrete materials and structures under various loading conditions. He has been a pioneering developer of discrete methods for the modeling concrete materials, including fiber-reinforced cement composites. Application areas include the early-age behavior of concrete bridge decks, failure analyses of structural concrete, and smart materials for structural health monitoring.
