Master of Science Program in Civil and Environmental Engineering
The Master of Science (M.S.) program in Civil and Environmental Engineering at UC Davis provides advanced technical training and research opportunities for students seeking to deepen their expertise in a specialized area of civil and environmental engineering.
Through rigorous coursework, faculty mentorship and hands-on research experiences, students develop the knowledge and skills needed to advance their careers as professional engineers, pursue leadership opportunities or continue their studies in a doctoral program.
Rigorous Coursework
Learn from world-renowned faculty through advanced coursework and small class sizes designed to build expertise in your chosen area of study.
Research Opportunities
Many M.S. students collaborate with faculty conducting innovative research that addresses challenges across civil and environmental engineering.
Professional Network
Build connections with fellow graduate students, faculty, alumni and industry partners who are shaping the future of engineering.
Complete your Professional M.S. in as little as 9 months
Students pursuing a Professional M.S. (Plan II) can complete their degree in nine months (three quarters) of full-time study, although for students who opt for an Individual Capstone Report experience generally at least 12 months of full-time study is necessary.
Students pursuing a Research-based M.S. (Plan I) typically require 18-24 months of full-time study to complete the program and requires the agreement of a Major Professor to supervise your M.S. Thesis.
