Mark Rashid

Professir Rashid’s research activities aim to facilitate the analysis and simulation of complex solid-mechanics problems through novel computer-based methods. Topics of particular interest include polyhedral finite element methods, computational geometry, fracture mechanics, and constitutive modeling. The overarching goal is deeper penetration of engineering simulation into design and forensic-engineering practice, particularly when complex geometries, strong nonlinearities, and/or coupled thermomechanical effects are present.
