Dr. Jay R. Lund selected to receive the 2014 Warren A. Hall Medal

UCOWR Announces Winner of the 2014 Warren A. Hall Medal The Board of Directors of UCOWR is delighted to announce that Dr. Jay R. Lund, University of California-Davis, has been selected to receive the 2014 Warren A. Hall. Dr. Lund’s research, teaching, and public service have made significant and lasting impacts upon the field of water resources and embody the philosophy upon which this award is founded. Congratulations, Dr. Lund!

The award will be presented at the UCOWR Awards Banquet on June 19th. The banquet is part of the 2014 UCOWR/NIWR/CUAHSI Conference, Water Systems, Science, and Society Under Global Change, to be held at Tufts University, Medford, Massachusetts, June 18-20. Dr. Jay Lund is Director of the Center for Watershed Sciences and a Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California-Davis. He has long enjoyed teaching, research, and engagement on many aspects of theory and practice for water management and policy, usually trying to integrate economics and operations research with traditional engineering. He has become particularly engaged in working on the wide range of water problems in California with a range of wonderful collaborators, and remains enthusiastic about the potential of optimization to provide understanding and insights.
